On the language of hate against Israel—and Jews

When anti-Israel protesters protest a pro-Israel event, they don’t just speak out against Israel. They chant, allahu akbar. This isn‘t a political expression. It’s a religious expression.

It puts religion into the middle of a political activity. It gives politics a religious context.

For example, at a recent University of California anti-Israel student vote, students shouted for allah; and then, afterwards, one student commented on Facebook: “Israel will fall insha’Allah” (“University of California students chant ‘Allahu Akbar’ after anti-Israel vote”, The Washington Times, February 3, 2015).

In case you don’t understand what “Israel will fall insha’allah” means, it means, ‘Israel will fall, allah willing’. It creates a direct link between that anti-Israel boycott vote and Islam. It links that Islamicized boycott vote to the destruction of Israel. It links the destruction of Israel to Islam.

Hamas and Fatah control the ‘Palestinian Cause’. That Cause isn’t about instilling into Arab hearts and minds a culture of ‘living side-by-side with Israel in peace and security’. It’s about the drive to “instill a culture of resistance in their [young men’s]minds — to nurture and motivate” the desire to drive Israel out (“Inside one of Hamas' youth training camps”, AI Monitor, February 2, 2015).

Hamas and Fatah use language to create that anti-Israel motivation. They use the language of hate to ignite the flame of Jihad (holy war) against Israel (ibid).

Hamas never sleeps when it comes to demonizing Israel or Jews. Neither does Fatah.

On a Hamas news site, The Palestinian News Centre”, you’ll see a section titled, ‘Zionist Terror’. Hamas uses this section to incite against Israel:

-“The Nazis didn't brag about the concentration camps, but Zionist Jews are quite boastful about bombing crowded apartment buildings in Gaza” (“Even the Nazis didn't brag about their crimes”, ibid).

-“a Jewish mother in Hebron used to give Arab kids inducements, e.g. a little money, to hurt and curse her own kids” (“Israel wants Europe to back ethnic cleansing in WB to demonstrate resolve against anti-Semitism”, ibid).

-“In Gaza, Israeli warplanes, supplied by the United States, dropped one-ton bombs on multi-story buildings packed with civilians, reducing them to rubble. Predictably, the result was mini-Auschwitzes, mini-Dachaus and mini-Bergen Belsens all over the coastal enclave. How else can one describe the utter systematic destruction of 100,000 homes, filled to capacity with men, women and children?” (“The Paris March of hypocrisy”, ibid).

-“Since 2006, Israel has imposed its blockade to punish Palestinians for exercising their right to elect their own parliamentary representatives” (“'Happy New Year' not applicable to Gaza”, ibid).

-“There have been numerous indications showing that Israel is more than active in promoting Islamophobia throughout Europe. This writer knows of several Israeli "scholars" who have authored "studies" warning European states against their Muslim citizens. Even today, Israeli daily newspapers are swarming with Islamophobic articles from which the nauseating odor of incitement and defamation is wafting in all directions…Moreover, Israeli leaders, including Binyamin Netanyahu, the notorious pathological liar, never lose a chance to incite Europe against the "Islamic peril.” The unspoken words of Israeli leaders and propagandists sound like this: "Kill the Muslims before they kill you, hound them, expel them, don't trust them." In short, it is Nazi propaganda, pure and simple”, (“Is Israel behind the anti-Islam wave of protests in Germany”, ibid).

None of this incitement is true. First, Israel didn’t brag about bombing civilian-crowded multi-story apartment buildings in Gaza. Second, we know of no mothers who deliberately paid Arab children to curse Jewish children. Third, Israel didn’t deliberately and with malice aforethought bomb Gazan apartment buildings. But there is plenty evidence to explain why Hamas was responsible for the death of so many civilians in Gaza (David Daoud, “Everything You Need to Know about International Law and the Gaza War”, Issue 18, The Tower Magazine, September 2014).

In 2006, Israel did not blockade Gaza as a punishment for Gazans electing Hamas. The blockade began (in 2007) because Hamas, once elected, began to use Gaza as a base for terror activities. As a consequence of Hamas’ own actions, both Egypt and Israel established a blockade of Gaza (“Israel's "Blockade" of Gaza”, Jewish Virtual Library, updated August 2014).

No government authority—or government ‘propagandist’-- has ever published ‘kill the Muslim before he kills you.” No one in Israel’s ruling government has ever suggested such a thing; if someone had, he would have been viciously attacked by all sides of the Israel political spectrum.

Hamas doesn’t care.

Fatah is no different. For example, the day after two Muslims murdered Jews in a Jerusalem synagogue during Jewish prayers, an Abbas advisor posted on his Facebook page, “"Blessed be your quality weapons, the wheels of your cars, your axes and kitchen knives... because [they are being used] according to Allah's will” (“PA and Fatah paved the way for today’s stabbing attack in Tel Aviv”, PMW, January 21, 2015).

After two soldiers were stabbed by Muslims, a Fatah paper declared, "Every Palestinian has the right to feel proud of what is seen in the video of the stabbing of the two soldiers in Jerusalem...Now, every Palestinian raises his hand holding a knife together with this young Palestinian, and stabs the Zionists" (ibid).

There are other examples. You’ll find them online at PMW and MEMRI.

You’ll get an education. You’ll learn about the language of hate against Israel and the Jews.
