What is the 'Palestinian' future?

(Last update: October 27, 2017)

HaShem, the G-d of Israel, has made many promises. None of these promises are secret. They've all been in the public  record for perhaps 2,300+ years, dating from the time the Great Assembly of Israel codified the contents of the Tanach (the Jewish Bible) (Rabbi Ken Spiro, "History course #26: the Great Assembly", aish, May 26, 2007).

The Tanach has been in print for millenia, both as the Jewish Bible and as part of a non-Jewish bible. Because of the popularity of two religions, the Jewish Bible has become the most-read book in human history.

According to the Guinness book of records, there is no exact number on Bible sales ("Best selling book of non-fiction, guinnessworldrecords, no date). Nevertheless, one survey of the subject estimates that some 2.5 billion copies of the Bible have been printed between 1815 and 1975, with millions more since (ibid).

If there were any secret promises in the actual text of the Bible, they're no longer 'secret'. Too many people--billions of them--have already seen every one of those promises.

We see several of those promises in the Torah portion Jews around the world will read on Shabbat, October 28, 2017. That Torah portion is called, Lech Lecha (Breisheet, 12:1-17:27). One of those promises is the statement, "he who curses you will I curse" (Breisheet 12:3, the Artscroll edition of Ramban commentary, 2004).

Regarding the nature of this 'curse', Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch writes, "a nation...that restricts and embitters your existence [Israel]", that is the nation I (G-d) will curse  (Hirsch commentary on the Torah, trans into English by Isaac Levy, Judaica Press, 1966, vol One, Breisheet, p.228)

When you look at history, you can see that this promise is true.  Consider a list of nations which have sought to curse the Jewish nation in some way:

Ancient Egypt
Amalek
Edom
Emor
Bashan
Ancient Syria
Moab
 Ammon
Midian
Philistine
Assyria
Babylonia
Ancient Persian
Ancient Greece
Ancient Roman Empire
Nazi Germany
The Former Soviet Union

This list has seventeen names on it. Is the list complete? I don't know. There could be more names.

Each of the nations listed here has sought to curse, or
'embitter', the Jewish people.  For their cruelty towards the Jews, each has suffered the ultimate G-dly curse--extinction.

What do the so-called 'Palestinians' do? They hate Israel. They call Jews apes and son of pigs. They want to destroy both Israel and the Jews--and they invoke their god to help them do that (Michael Qazvini, "Quebec Imam prays [to allah] for the extermination of the accursed Jews" [emphasis mine], dailywire, February 9, 2017; Steven Emerson, "Two Canadian Imams call for death of Jews", algemeiner, March 2, 2017; "Allah, destroy the Jews", wnd, October 23, 2012; Ryan Jones, "Palestinian Official: allah gathering the Jews so we can kill them", israelhayom, March 14, 2014; "Berlin Imam prays for allah to destroy the Zionist Jews", haaretz,  July 21, 2014; Robert Spencer, "Lebanese Muslim cleric says the destruction of Israel is revealed in the Qu'ran and Hadith", jihadwatch, September 14, 2015).

The Palestinian Authority (PA) seeks to restrict, embitter and attack the Jewish people of Israel. For their cruelty and hate, they certainly seem to have had their curses boomerang onto themselves.

After all, 'Palestinians' essentially share with Israel the same 'plot of land' in the Middle East. But the differences between the PA and Israel are startling.

After only 70 years, Israel is considered a Westernized, wealthy nation. It offers freedom and opportunity. It flourishes as a democratic market economy. We know this about Israel because it is a member of an exclusive club--the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The OECD is a group of the freest  market-driven countries in the world. Only 35 nations have so far qualified to belong to it. Israel is one of those countries.

The Palestinian Authority, on the other hand, doesn't flourish. It's considered to be an economic 'basket case'. It doesn't  qualify to belong to the OECD. It has no freedom. It has no market economy. It's run by despots. It appears to have done almost nothing to suggest it knows how to run a successful nation-state.

The 'Palestinian' people are not encouraged to build a viable nation-state. They're encouraged to kill Jews.

Israel has much to offer the PA, to help prepare 'Palestinians' for their future. But the PA refuses to cooperate with Israel. It refuses to 'normalize' with Israel (Bassam Tawil, "Palestinian  normalization--with Hamas, not Israel", gatestoneinstitute, October 11, 2017).

The PA doesn't dream of statehood or building a viable economy. It dreams of destroying Israel and killing Jews (ibid).

These so-called 'Palestinians' curse Israel. Curses have consequences. All the nations listed above cursed Israel in one way or another. Those nations are now extinct. Will 'Palestinians' join them?
